If you thought The Walking Dead tv series was dark, wait til you get a load of this...
This is the official comic the tv series is based on and it's some pretty dark stuff to be completely blunt, it's not for the faint hearted that's for sure but I love the series and the comic has some of the best comic illustrations I've ever seen.
Here's just a peek at some of the cover art;

new arrivals

A little while ago I purchased some crystals online and they arrived in the mail today.. both at the same time from two very different parts of the world... Yay!

Mint Green Monatomic Andara

The source of Monatomic Andaras is still unknown but they are said to be a divine gift to people on earth with extraordinary healing properties.

Pink Lemurian Elestial Cluster

Lemurian Quartz properties are said to be stronger than that of any normal quartz variety. In fact they have been linked to Atlantean/Lemurian times and civilizations and are believed to hold the wisdom and healing properties of those lost worlds. It really is such a magical thought...
In all honesty I'm not so easily influenced by wishy-washy ideas that can't be proven, however I did instantly feel that this crystal was meant for me as I was completely drawn to it.
On the night I purchased it, within seconds of completing the payment transaction (which was instant credit card payment), I immediately felt a warm and soothing flush come over me. It was a little strange and intense. It was something I'd never experienced before. It lasted for a few minutes and I felt at peace and not alone... almost eerily not alone.
It's almost as if as soon as in physicality the ownership of the crystal transferred to me so did it's energy. Since having that 'connecting' experience I truly believe that Lemurian Crystals are very powerful crystals which facilitate strong connections with higher vibrational beings.

Upcoming mandalas and artworks

I've been working on some really awesome Apophysis mandalas and will be posting them soon... really buggered atm and today I only managed to render one artwork that I did back in March last year. Also I  completely sorted my 1 TB external hard drive which had files... in files... in files... in files from 4 years ago. oh boy it's been a long day! lol
Now here's a taste of some simpler circular works...

...my little Lily

I honestly couldn't resist sharing!

Chillwave aka Glo-fi
I found a new band I love!! Yes you guessed it ...MS MR.
Not only am I absolutely besotted with this band but I have discovered the genre from which they came and it's called Chillwave or also commonly known as glo-fi... too cool.
For more great Chillwave artists check out R.I.P Chillwave and if you liked the MS MR Bones video I posted yesterday then you're sure to like these guys too, Neon Indian.

more on Apophysis 2.09..
As I've mentioned in my earlier posts I've been getting back into playing around with fractals.
For those of you who are not familiar with the program, Apophysis 2.09 is an open source freeware program for generating and editing fractal flames. It allows one to edit and manipulate triangles to create amazing images. Sounds simple right? ...wrong.
Apophysis is a great program but in all honesty it takes months, if not years to master many of it's features. The results however are well worth the effort, so far I have been tinkering with it for almost 2 years and I have gotten better in my work but I still lack the technical ability of many artists in the field of fractal flame creation and manipulation. Karin Kuhlman, Stacy Reed, Claire JonesJoel Faber and Carl Jones are just a few of the legends in the fractal community. For more info on Apophysis 2.09 check out the official site, plus download the tutorials and watch YouTube videos to get yourself started.

Apophysis 3D Hack
A little word of warning about the '3D hack' version; most anti-virus software will recognize the freeware as a Trojan. Don't be alarmed however because it's not a virus and will not harm your computer. I know this because I assumed that at first and vaulted the program immediately, then downloaded it again from another source and the same thing happened. I downloaded it a third time, this time I ran it, ignored the virus alert and afterwards I did a full scan of my computer and turned up with no results for Trojans... computer was completely virus-free. After a bit of research I found one small paragraph on a forum about certain anti-virus software, particularly AVG  recognizing the program as a Trojan when it's totally fine to run.

Twisted Paint Daubs
The following fractal was created with tweaking some pre-generated triangles and changing a few values. It's simple but I quite like the 'paint streaks on canvas' effect. All that colour twisting together.
My daughter said she loved this one which was really nice to hear.

Today: Adrian (my hubby) drank a bit too much last night and has been throwing up since 2 am this morning (twice on my hand while I was trying to help him to the toilet urrgh)!, just another gentle reminder of why I'm so glad I don't drink. lol (I do feel sorry for him though all curled up in a ball on the couch).

Dec-Jan: We took a little trip to Qld in the xmas holidays and I thought to add some of the photos from our adventures; Here they are, hope you enjoy!

The Batwing Spaceshot ~ Ground to 61 m high in just 2 seconds!
...yes ladies and gents that is genuine fear on my sons face.. lol. I had to carefully select my shutter speed to get this shot and I'm so happy it worked out. Captured a goodin'.

Lily had so much fun. Unfortunately they were long and exhausting days spent walking around the theme parks and my only advice to anyone considering doing the theme parks with young children is make sure you take plenty of water, snacks/food (food is expensive if you buy it there), take a backpack and definitely invest in a storage locker from the get-go, the $10 will be well spent when you've saved yourself the hassle of carrying heavy bags everywhere. Also buy a VIP pass and do each park twice; you will be able to see more and it will be less stressful especially since second time you'll know your way around.
Upside, Lily macked out almost every afternoon we were in Qld... she must have had a ball!

The boys at Wet'n'Wild on the Constrictor...
Adrian really hates cold water and I mean really hates cold water, so much so that he wears a wet suit in the pool on a hot day?! This photo was taken at 6:pm and at this stage it was starting to get darn cold, surprisingly for sunny summer Qld. I haggled Adrian the whole time he was in the line, hehe ...and I could see he was not looking forward to going on this ride. Unfortunately though, the water was really warm so I was bitterly disappointed that I didn't get to see Adrian squirm. lol

Arkham Asylum is by far the best place for adults to visit at Movie World.

Broden looking handsome as always...

Byron Bay at 5:am
On the drive home we decided to stop in at Byron for breakfast. I think Byron is the only place this side of  Australia which has a bakery open to the public at an ungodly hour in the morning, lucky for us coz we were starving! ...and we were able to enjoy bacon and egg rolls by the beach with tea and coffee. ahhhh!
Byron Bay early in the morning

We had a great time, even the drive... all 10 hours of it, was more pleasant than what I had first anticipated and the kids were surprisingly patient. I think it was Adrian and I that were more impatient on the way home than Broden and Lily... it was really nice to be home though.
